Senior Backend Engineer Tech Lead (3‑4 month contract, remote)

About the role

Join FullStack's talent network as a Senior Backend Engineer Tech Lead for a 3‑4 month remote engagement supporting a U.S. client. You will work directly with the client’s designers and engineers, influencing architecture and delivering high‑scale backend solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design and implementation of Backend‑for‑Frontend (BFF) systems and API middleware for mobile platforms.
• Architect and secure scalable microservices and event‑driven architectures for high‑traffic e‑commerce applications.
• Collaborate with client‑facing teams, external vendors, and internal engineers to ensure delivery of AI‑enabled features.
• Maintain CI/CD pipelines and oversee deployment on AWS services.

Required profile

• 6+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• 2+ years in technical leadership, influencing architecture and engineering direction.
• Advanced English proficiency and a completed four‑year college degree.
• Proven ability to take extreme ownership and work autonomously in remote, Agile/Scrum environments.

Required skills

• Node.js and TypeScript.
• AWS (EC2, ECS, Lambda, ElastiCache, S3, CloudFront).
• MongoDB and backend deployment pipeline optimization.
• Salesforce OCAPI/API, CMS‑driven content management, mobile third‑party integrations.
• Design and security of microservices, event‑driven architectures.
• AI development tools such as LangChain or LlamaIndex for LLM integration.
