Senior AI Engineer (LATAM) – Healthcare

About the role

We are seeking a Senior AI Engineer to design and ship LLM‑powered agents, AI workflows, and intelligent automation that support mission‑critical healthcare operations. The role is fully remote and focuses on turning real user problems into AI‑driven solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design and build AI workflows and agent‑based systems for healthcare teams.
• Develop LLM‑powered features (OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.) including prompt engineering, evaluation, and fine‑tuning.
• Create AI tools for document processing, compliance automation, recommendations, and voice/speech integrations.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and operations to translate user needs into AI solutions.
• Develop backend services using Node.js, PostgreSQL, vector databases, and Retrieval‑Augmented Generation pipelines.
• Integrate and orchestrate automations with platforms such as n8n, Zapier, or Vellum.
• Monitor and optimise AI performance based on real usage and feedback.
• Communicate clearly in writing and collaborate asynchronously.

Required profile

• 5+ years of software engineering experience.
• 3+ years building AI/ML systems with strong hands‑on experience in LLMs and OpenAI models.
• Proficiency in Python, FastAPI, Node.js, PostgreSQL, and vector databases.
• Experience with document AI, recommendation engines, voice/speech or multimodal systems.
• Ability to architect scalable, agent‑based workflows.
• Strong product intuition and user‑centric thinking.
• Excellent written communication and comfort working fully remotely.
