Kitchen Staff

About the role

We are looking for motivated Kitchen Staff to prepare breakfast and lunch, support serving lines, and assist with occasional catering events across our school food service locations. The role involves working in a fast‑paced kitchen environment, ensuring food safety and quality while following Opaa! recipes and menu plans.

Key responsibilities

• Set up and maintain serving lines, ensuring food is held at required temperatures.
• Prepare foods according to menu plans, Opaa! recipes, and batch‑cook for next‑day service.
• Operate slicers, mixers, grinders and other kitchen equipment with proper certification.
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen, cafeteria, equipment, and dishwashing areas.
• Manage inventory using FIFO procedures and keep cooler/storage areas organized.
• Record temperatures, complete HACCP logs, and comply with HHFKA and CACFP regulations.
• Assist with bread, baked goods, and present meals attractively to customers.
• Support catering functions and serve items with correct portions and utensils.

Required profile

• Ability to follow standardized recipes and food safety procedures.
• Willingness to work onsite in a kitchen environment.
• Commitment to Opaa!’s core values and safety policies.
• Flexibility to attend meetings, trainings, and daily dish reports.

Required skills

• Food preparation and batch cooking.
• Operation of kitchen equipment (slicers, mixers, grinders).
• Food safety compliance (HACCP, temperature monitoring).
• Inventory management using FIFO.
• Cleaning and sanitation of kitchen areas.
