Project Accountant – Development

About the role

As a Project Accountant – Development at Hines you will serve as the key liaison between property managers' external rental and financial accounting teams and investors. You will ensure the accuracy of monthly, quarterly and annual financial data, support auditors and tax advisors, and contribute to cash management and reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Interface between property managers' external rental and financial accounting teams and investors.
• Review and plausibility checks of external monthly accounting data, quarterly and annual financial statements, including variance analysis and commentary.
• Act as point of contact for annual financial statement auditors and tax advisors.
• Prepare or review monthly VAT advance returns and support external tax advisors in tax return preparation.
• Manage cash reporting and serve as support for operational asset management.
• Conduct various analyses and ad‑hoc tasks for different stakeholders.

Required profile

• Completed degree and initial professional experience in accounting/controlling, preferably in real estate or tax advisory/audit.
• Relevant experience working with different accounting systems.
• Strong IT skills in all common MS Office products, especially Excel.
• Very good German and good English skills, both written and spoken.
• Analytical mindset with a strong affinity for numbers.
• Structured approach, strong organizational skills, flexibility, and highly developed teamwork and communication abilities.
