Financial Controller - Asset Management

About the role

Join Hines as a Financial Controller in Asset Management, where you will handle bookkeeping, financial reporting, and support a range of accounting activities for real‑estate projects. You will work closely with internal teams and external auditors to ensure accurate financial statements and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain ongoing bookkeeping and accounting in accordance with HGB.
• Assist in preparing interim and annual financial statements.
• Process project‑related payment transactions.
• Execute capital calls and loan drawdowns.
• Participate in external annual audits and other audit processes.
• Prepare monthly VAT advance returns.
• Support external tax advisors in tax return preparation and review.
• Assist with reporting, budget monitoring, and administration.
• Handle investor‑specific ad‑hoc tasks for various stakeholders.

Required profile

• Several years of professional accounting experience, preferably in real estate or tax advisory, or a relevant degree.
• Strong IT skills in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Very good German and good English, both written and spoken.
• Analytical mindset with a strong affinity for numbers.
• Structured approach, strong organizational skills, flexibility, and excellent teamwork and communication abilities.
