Kitchen Staff

About the role

Prepare breakfast and lunch offerings, assist with serving lines, and support occasional catering functions. Perform all positions within the kitchen while ensuring food safety and quality.

Key responsibilities

• Set up serving lines daily, maintain proper food temperatures, and stock milk coolers.
• Prepare foods according to menu plans and Opaa! recipes, including baking bread, cakes, and cookies.
• Operate slicers, mixers, grinders, ovens, fryers, and other kitchen equipment with proper certification.
• Maintain clean and organized work areas, including kitchen, cafeteria, and dishwashing stations.
• Manage inventory using FIFO procedures and keep cooler/storage racks clean.
• Record production data, monitor temperatures, and follow HACCP and food safety logs.
• Handle cash transactions, run the POS system for reimbursable meals, and complete daily paperwork.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or GED preferred; up to one month related experience acceptable.
• Ability to read, write, and comprehend simple instructions and correspondences.
• Basic math skills for measuring, calculating rates, ratios, and percentages.
• Common‑sense reasoning to follow detailed written or oral instructions.

Required skills

• Operation of kitchen equipment: slicer, mixer, grinder, dishwasher, steamer/kettle, oven, stove, fryers, thermometers, gauges, knives, box cutters.
• Use of meal counting software and basic computer skills (desktop PC, calculator).
