About the role

The Roger Bacon Academy seeks an Exceptional Children Teacher to provide special‑education services to students with disabilities in a public charter school setting. The role involves developing and implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and delivering direct instruction aligned with the school’s Direct Instruction curriculum.

Key responsibilities

Develop and implement instructional plans that align with school‑wide goals and each student’s IEP.
Provide direct special‑education instruction, adapt materials, and monitor student behavior and progress.
Maintain accurate EC records, communicate progress to parents, and act as case manager for assigned students.

Required profile

Bachelor’s degree in education with a valid North Carolina teaching certificate in the relevant area.
Ability to perform physical tasks such as assisting students with personal needs and lifting up to 20 lb.
Strong interpersonal communication skills for interaction with students, parents, and staff.
