Staff Backend Engineer – Python (Remote)

About the role

In this position you will bring deep technical expertise to the backend systems that serve millions of collectors. The role is hands‑on, allowing you to influence architecture and design while staying close to the code. You will work remotely with a global team of top‑tier engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Design and build backend services on AWS serverless infrastructure.
• Own complete features end‑to‑end, from design through deployment.
• Design microservices and event‑driven systems that scale reliably.
• Containerize and orchestrate services using Docker, Kubernetes, or ECS.
• Design data models across PostgreSQL and DynamoDB.
• Design APIs consumed by web and mobile applications.

Required profile

• 8+ years of experience in backend engineering with strong proficiency in Python.
• Hands‑on experience with AWS Serverless (Lambda, SQS, SNS, EventBridge, API Gateway).
• Background in PostgreSQL and DynamoDB.
• Proficiency in microservices and event‑driven architecture.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or ECS.
• Advanced proficiency in English.
