Senior Software Engineer (Control Plane & Orchestration) – Remote (Latin America)

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer specialized in control‑plane and orchestration to join our client’s engineering team remotely from Latin America. You will work side‑by‑side with designers and engineers, delivering high‑performance platform APIs and building large‑scale distributed systems.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain platform APIs consumed by multiple internal or external teams.
• Build event‑driven and message‑driven architectures with reliable, idempotent, versioned RESTful services.
• Develop highly available backend services and storage solutions (object, file, block, container).
• Implement and operate Kubernetes‑based platforms, including Operators, Controllers, and CRDs.
• Manage multi‑tenant and air‑gapped Kubernetes environments and support multi‑cluster deployments.
• Apply observability practices using metrics, logging, tracing, and monitoring.
• Collaborate closely with Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) teams and implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and GitOps workflows.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with a focus on control‑plane and orchestration.
• Advanced English proficiency and a completed four‑year degree.
• Proven experience designing large‑scale distributed systems and platform APIs.
• Strong background in RESTful API design, event‑driven architectures, and asynchronous workflows.
• Deep expertise with Kubernetes (Operators, Controllers, CRDs) and multi‑tenant environments.
• Hands‑on experience deploying cloud‑native applications in production.
• Solid understanding of distributed system consistency, fault tolerance, and recovery.
• Experience with observability, IaC, GitOps, and collaboration with SRE teams.
