Security Engineer

About the role

This full‑time Security Engineer position at Digital Harbor Bolivia is a hybrid role based in Cochabamba, offering flexibility to work from home part of the time. You will design, implement and maintain security controls across applications, networks and infrastructure to protect sensitive data and systems.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor security events, investigate incidents and perform vulnerability assessments.
• Collaborate with engineering and IT teams to remediate risks and implement security controls.
• Develop and update security policies, conduct secure code and architecture reviews.
• Support compliance with standards and best practices, and contribute to security awareness initiatives.

Required profile

• Strong foundation in cybersecurity and information security with hands‑on security engineering experience.
• Proficiency in network security (firewall configuration, IDS/IPS, VPNs, network segmentation).
• Experience in application security (secure coding principles, code review, threat modeling).
• Knowledge of security frameworks and standards such as OWASP, ISO 27001, NIST.
• Ability to communicate clearly with technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security or related field; relevant certifications are a plus.
