Scientific Editor – Geology (Remote)

About the role

We are seeking a Scientific Editor with expertise in Geology to join our Earth and Environmental Science team on a work‑from‑home basis. This is a contractual position with regular workload and the possibility of renewal by mutual agreement.

Key responsibilities

• Review and edit manuscripts to improve clarity, coherence, and readability while preserving authors’ intended meaning.
• Ensure subject‑specific terminology, conventions, and scientific arguments are accurate and appropriate for the target audience.
• Enhance presentation of complex research findings to meet publication standards.
• Format manuscripts according to journal guidelines and adhere to editorial standards.

Required profile

• Master’s or PhD degree in Geology or a related Earth science discipline.
• Demonstrated ability to critically evaluate scientific content and ensure discipline‑specific accuracy.
• Excellent written English with strong attention to detail.
• Prior experience in scientific editing, peer review, or academic publishing is an advantage.

Required skills

• Familiarity with journal formatting and citation styles.
