Responsible Sourcing Specialist

About the role

Trafigura is seeking a Responsible Sourcing Specialist to lead ESG due‑diligence and responsible mineral sourcing initiatives across Bolivia and the wider Latin American region. The role combines field work, supplier engagement, and analytical reporting to ensure compliance with international frameworks and local regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct thorough supplier assessments for minerals, metals and bulk commodities, documenting performance and improvement actions.
• Engage with suppliers through assessments, monitoring action plans, and delivering capacity‑building activities.
• Track and report key performance indicators for responsible sourcing initiatives in Bolivia, preparing detailed analytics for management and customers.
• Support regional responsible sourcing programmes by providing due‑diligence expertise and supplier assessment guidance throughout Latin America.
• Contribute to external ESG reporting, ensuring alignment with evolving regulatory requirements and commercial commitments.
• Act as an ambassador for Trafigura’s Responsible Sourcing Programme, communicating its value to internal and external stakeholders.
• Continuously identify emerging best practices to enhance programme impact and maintain market leadership.

Required profile

• Demonstrated expertise in ESG due‑diligence aligned with OECD, UN Guiding Principles, LBMA, IFC, and ILO standards.
• In‑depth knowledge of artisanal and small‑scale mining dynamics, especially mining cooperatives in Bolivia.
• Strong understanding of Bolivia’s mining regulations, health, safety and environmental compliance.
• Proven ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders, from mining communities to corporate executives.
• Fluency in English and Spanish.
• Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time for field work.
