Principal Backend Engineer (Python) – Remote

About the role

In this role, you'll shape the backend architecture behind products serving millions of collectors worldwide. This is a hands‑on leadership position where your architectural decisions directly determine how well the platform scales as the business grows.

Key responsibilities

• Design and build backend architecture on AWS serverless infrastructure.
• Own complete features end to end, from design through deployment.
• Design microservices and event‑driven systems that scale with demand.
• Define infrastructure as code practices to support consistent, repeatable deployments.
• Design APIs consumed by web and mobile applications.
• Partner with product and design teams to shape the technical roadmap.

Required profile

• 10+ years of experience in backend engineering, with strong proficiency in Python.
• Hands‑on experience with AWS Serverless (Lambda, SQS, SNS, EventBridge, API Gateway).
• Background in PostgreSQL and DynamoDB.
• Proficiency in microservices and event‑driven architecture.
• Familiarity with infrastructure as code (CDK, CloudFormation, or Terraform).
• Advanced proficiency in English.
