About the role
The client is looking for a Head of Private Brand Development to lead the strategy, creation and lifecycle management of its own‑brand portfolio. The role will drive market growth, profitability and brand positioning by working closely with commercial, marketing, sourcing, logistics, quality and regulatory teams.
Key responsibilities
- Design and lead the comprehensive private‑brand strategy, defining medium‑ and long‑term portfolio vision.
- Identify expansion opportunities through market research, consumer trend analysis and international benchmarking.
- Negotiate strategic alliances and agreements with international manufacturers and laboratories.
- Set strategic pricing guidelines in coordination with commercial teams to ensure competitiveness and margin.
- Define brand architecture and positioning together with Marketing.
- Prepare the annual budget and business plan for the private‑brand unit.
- Evaluate exclusive representation, licensing or partnership opportunities.
- Translate portfolio strategy into annual and quarterly product development, launch and renewal plans.
- Manage the full product lifecycle (introduction, growth, maturity, decline) and make investment, relaunch or discontinuation decisions.
- Coordinate launch, communication and brand activation activities with Marketing.
- Monitor competitor performance and regional/international trends to adjust the portfolio.
- Ensure regulatory compliance, health‑sanitary registration and technical validation before market entry.
- Oversee the complete new‑product development process, from concept definition to supplier selection and sample approval.
- Track commercial indicators (sales, margin, turnover, market share) and implement corrective actions.
Required profile
- Proven experience leading private‑brand or own‑brand development in a consumer‑goods or retail environment.
- Strong negotiation skills with international manufacturers and suppliers.
- Ability to work cross‑functionally with commercial, marketing, sourcing, logistics, quality and regulatory teams.
- Strategic mindset with solid analytical and financial acumen.
- Excellent project‑management capabilities and experience managing product lifecycles.
