FDM4 ERP Developer – Progress OpenEdge

About the role

The FDM4 Developer will design, develop, enhance, and support FDM4 ERP applications across retail, e‑commerce, and supply‑chain domains. Working closely with business analysts, functional teams, QA, and other technical groups, you will deliver scalable solutions that improve order management, inventory, warehouse, and purchasing processes.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement enhancements and customizations within the FDM4 ERP platform.
• Develop and maintain applications using Progress OpenEdge ABL/4GL and its RDBMS.
• Write SQL queries and perform data analysis for reporting and integration needs.
• Translate business requirements into technical designs and integration specifications.
• Build integrations with external systems via REST APIs, web services, EDI, and B2B mechanisms.
• Provide Level 2/3 production support, including root‑cause analysis, defect resolution, performance tuning, and system optimization.
• Create unit tests and assist with system/integration testing.
• Review code, mentor junior developers, and contribute to architecture discussions.
• Collaborate with DevOps teams on deployments, monitoring, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and drive automation of repetitive operational tasks.
• Lead ERP readiness for peak retail periods, including holiday preparation and execution.

Required profile

• Strong experience with Progress OpenEdge ABL/4GL and its database concepts.
• Solid SQL skills and familiarity with relational databases.
• Knowledge of object‑oriented programming (Java, Python) and OOP concepts.
• Experience designing and consuming REST APIs and other integration mechanisms.
• Understanding of retail, e‑commerce, supply‑chain, or warehouse operations is a plus.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem‑solving abilities.
