Elixir Backend Engineer – Remote (Latin America)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Elixir Backend Engineer to join our talent network and work remotely with U.S. clients on project‑based assignments. You will become an integral part of the client’s engineering team, collaborating daily with designers and fellow engineers to deliver high‑quality backend services.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust APIs using Elixir and the Phoenix framework.
• Build and support backend services that power mobile applications (React Native).
• Integrate third‑party APIs and ensure reliable connectivity.
• Work with legacy codebases, improving reliability and maintainability.
• Implement automated testing and continuous integration/delivery pipelines.
• Utilize containerization tools (Docker) and modern CI/CD workflows.
• Leverage AI‑assisted development tools and remote environments such as GitHub Codespaces.

Required profile

• 4+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Proven production experience with Elixir and Phoenix.
• Advanced English proficiency.
• Completed a four‑year college degree.
• Experience building backend services for mobile apps.
• Strong problem‑solving attitude and ownership mindset.
