Credit Risk Officer – Santa Cruz Branch

About the role

The Credit Risk Officer will assess the creditworthiness of clients for the Santa Cruz branch, ensuring that all lending operations comply with internal policies and regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate payment capacity, background, commercial environment, and risk factors of assigned operations according to policies, procedures, and methodologies.
• Validate and assess information provided by divisions (companies, SMEs, individuals) both in the office and during on‑site visits.
• Prepare detailed reports of reviews following established procedures.
• Alert management to risk factors that could cause deviations from policy at both portfolio and individual operation levels.
• Identify and report economic groups linked to credit requests.
• Present risk criteria in Credit Committee meetings.
• Immediately report any irregularities to senior management as defined in the Credit Policy Manual.
• Perform additional tasks as required by supervisors.

Required profile

• Licensed professional with a degree in Business Administration, Commercial Engineering, Financial Engineering, Economics, Auditing, or Public Accounting.
• Diploma in Risk Management or Finance is desirable.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in risk or commercial functions within financial institutions (SME banking, personal banking, micro‑credit).
• Proven experience in analyzing and validating financial and credit information, including on‑site visits and guarantee verification.

Required skills

• Knowledge of Law N. 393 on Financial Services.
• Familiarity with current ASFI regulations related to credit portfolios.
• Understanding of the Commercial Code.
• Economic and financial analysis capabilities.
• Credit risk analysis expertise.
