Senior Software Engineer – Control Plane & Orchestration (Remote – Latin America)

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer with deep expertise in control‑plane and orchestration technologies to join our client’s engineering team remotely from Latin America. You will collaborate daily with designers and engineers, delivering high‑performance, cloud‑native solutions for large‑scale distributed systems.

Key responsibilities

• Integrate into the client’s team and work alongside designers and engineers on a daily basis.
• Design and build large‑scale distributed systems and platform APIs used by multiple internal or external teams.
• Develop reliable, versioned RESTful APIs with strong emphasis on idempotency and consistency.
• Create event‑driven or message‑driven architectures and asynchronous workflow orchestration.
• Build highly available backend services and manage multi‑tenant Kubernetes environments.
• Deploy and operate cloud‑native applications in production, including storage solutions (object, file, block, container).
• Implement observability (metrics, logging, tracing, monitoring) and collaborate closely with Site Reliability Engineering teams.
• Apply Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and GitOps methodologies, including work in air‑gapped or highly regulated Kubernetes settings.
• Design networking, service‑mesh, and multi‑cluster Kubernetes solutions and contribute to internal developer platforms.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, specifically with control‑plane and orchestration.
• Advanced English proficiency and a completed four‑year college degree.
• Proven track record designing large‑scale distributed systems and platform APIs.
• Strong experience with RESTful API design, event‑driven architectures, and asynchronous workflows.
• Deep expertise in Kubernetes (Operators, Controllers, CRDs) and multi‑tenant environments.
• Hands‑on experience deploying cloud‑native applications and implementing robust observability.
• Experience working with SRE teams, IaC, GitOps, and regulated/air‑gapped Kubernetes deployments.
