Engineering Manager – Remote (Bolivia)

About the role

Digital Harbor is seeking a skilled Engineering Manager to lead remote software development teams based in Bolivia. This position blends project management and technical leadership to drive the creation of innovative software products in a fully remote environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage remote development teams, ensuring smooth collaboration across time zones and disciplines.
• Coordinate project scope and priorities based on strategic goals, team capacity, deadlines, and resources.
• Utilize project management tools such as JIRA and Trello to track progress, identify roadblocks, and deliver results that exceed stakeholder expectations.
• Communicate project updates, risks, and progress to stakeholders, ensuring full transparency throughout the development lifecycle.
• Guide teams through the complete product lifecycle—from ideation to launch—ensuring innovative and high‑quality outcomes.
• Proactively identify and mitigate risks to avoid potential disruptions.
• Support the professional growth of team members, removing obstacles to enhance productivity.
• Manage the full project lifecycle, from planning and resource allocation to delivery, while adhering to timelines and quality standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in computer systems engineering, software engineering, or a related field.
• At least 2 years of experience as a Project Manager for software products, or 7+ years leading software development teams.
• Proven expertise in software development, product creation, and team leadership.
• Strong proficiency with project management tools like JIRA and Trello.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze, plan, and track projects to ensure timely, high‑quality delivery.
• Experience managing remote, multidisciplinary teams across multiple time zones.
• Preferred: Project Management certifications (PMP, CSM) and knowledge of software architecture principles.
