Chief of Party for USDA Food for Progress Project in Bolivia

About the role

Lutheran World Relief (LWR) is seeking a dynamic Chief of Party (COP) to lead a five‑year, $15‑20 million USDA Food for Progress initiative in Bolivia. The COP will provide overall vision, technical direction, and administrative oversight to improve productivity of targeted Bolivian value chains and expand market access between the United States and Bolivia.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and supervise LWR staff, consortium members, and sub‑grantees, ensuring alignment with USDA agreement terms.
• Coordinate program activities with public and private sector partners, government stakeholders, and USDA officials.
• Oversee technical quality, monitoring, evaluation, learning, and compliance with USDA reporting standards.
• Manage operational, logistical, and financial aspects of the project to achieve strategic objectives.
• Represent LWR and the project to national and state authorities in Bolivia and to U.S. government entities.

Required profile

• Proven senior‑level experience managing large‑scale international development projects, preferably in agriculture or food systems.
• Strong leadership and supervisory skills with the ability to guide multi‑disciplinary teams.
• Demonstrated ability to work with diverse stakeholders, including government agencies, NGOs, and private sector partners.
• Excellent communication and reporting skills, with experience preparing high‑quality technical and financial reports.
