Senior CloudOps Engineer (Direct Contractor)

About the role

Seagull Scientific is looking for a Senior CloudOps Engineer to design, implement, and maintain scalable, robust infrastructure across AWS, GCP, and Kubernetes environments. The position is a direct contract role based in La Paz, Bolivia, with a hybrid work model that expects three days per week on‑site.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and provision cloud infrastructure on Amazon Web Services and Google Cloud Platform.
• Deploy, manage, and scale containerized workloads using Kubernetes.
• Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions to ensure platform reliability.
• Manage databases and data services supporting label‑management applications.
• Participate in a rotating on‑call schedule to provide 24/7 platform support.
• Collaborate with global engineering teams to drive automation and best practices.

Required profile

• Senior‑level professional with several years of hands‑on experience in cloud operations.
• Proven ability to work in a hybrid environment and coordinate with distributed teams.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and readiness to respond to incidents during on‑call rotations.
