Staff Accountant – Crypto & Digital Asset Accounting

About the role

Veta Virtual is seeking a Staff Accountant to join a high‑growth fintech and cryptocurrency client. The role focuses on digital‑asset accounting, monthly close processes, and financial reporting for a global crypto kiosk network.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain monthly roll‑forwards for BTC, ETH, LTC and other digital assets.
• Reconcile wallet balances to blockchain data and internal sub‑ledgers, handling data cleanup and exception resolution.
• Calculate fair market value (FMV) and perform remeasurements of digital‑asset holdings.
• Process and account for crypto donations, rewards, incentives and hardware‑wallet activity.
• Post journal entries for month‑end close, including balance‑sheet reconciliations, flux analysis and variance explanations.
• Maintain fixed‑asset registers, depreciation schedules and assist with financial reporting and audit support.
• Develop spreadsheet reports, verify financial information and reconcile accounts.
• Review accounting policies, suggest improvements and support cross‑functional accounting processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
• Minimum 1 year of accounting experience with hands‑on journal entries, reconciliations and month‑end close.
• Working knowledge of cryptocurrency and blockchain fundamentals.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and general financial accounting principles.

Required skills

• Microsoft Excel (advanced).
• Microsoft Office Suite.
