Senior Software Engineer & Tech Lead (AI‑First Product)

About the role

RentRedi is seeking a hands‑on Technical Lead to shape AI‑first product engineering for its landlord‑tenant platform. You will guide a remote team in using generative AI to accelerate planning, coding, testing, and delivery while ensuring safety, quality, and customer trust.

Key responsibilities

• Lead AI‑first engineering practices across customer‑facing workflows.
• Partner early with product, design, support, QA and engineering leadership to define solutions before implementation.
• Break work into clear, AI‑assisted development plans with context, risk assessment, tests and validation steps.
• Use AI to speed up planning, implementation, test generation, debugging, documentation and review preparation.
• Establish standards for responsible AI use, including prompt quality, code review, security checks and release criteria.
• Mentor engineers through planning, pairing, code review, debugging and product trade‑off decisions.

Required profile

• Strong belief that AI should be integrated into the engineering process, not just a shortcut.
• Disciplined approach to reviewing AI‑generated output.
• Ability to turn ambiguous product ideas into clear, safe, shippable work.
• Focus on simple, customer‑centric solutions and incremental improvements.
• Experience evaluating impact, risk, privacy, permissions, test coverage, observability and maintainability.
