Senior Functional QA Engineer – SaaS Billing Integrations

About the role

You are an experienced Senior Functional QA Engineer who thrives on understanding complex business workflows and uncovering risks beyond happy‑path scenarios. This is a temporary six‑month assignment requiring consistent overlap with Pacific Time business hours.

Key responsibilities

• Create and maintain a comprehensive functional testing plan for SaaS billing and cloud‑data integrations.
• Design and execute test scenarios covering billing configurations, subscription lifecycle, invoice generation, payment processing and revenue data flows.
• Validate configurations, workflows and integration touchpoints through graphical interfaces and REST APIs using tools such as Postman.
• Review data‑parity reports and SQL query results to identify anomalies and flag discrepancies.
• Document test cases, execution evidence, defects and retesting outcomes, maintaining a complete audit trail.
• Coordinate testing activities with platform administrators and technical stakeholders, communicating progress, risks and quality concerns.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems or equivalent professional experience.
• 5+ years of functional quality assurance experience with complex SaaS or enterprise applications.
• Hands‑on experience testing billing or subscription workflows, including mid‑cycle changes and invoice generation.
• Professional proficiency in English and ability to work during Pacific Time business hours.

Required skills

• REST API testing using Postman or Newman.
• SQL query interpretation for data‑parity validation.
• Web‑based functional, integration, regression and end‑to‑end testing.
• Testing of billing/subscription workflows (e.g., Zuora Billing – nice to have).
• Familiarity with cloud data platforms such as GCP or BigQuery.
• Experience with automated regression frameworks like Cypress or pytest.
• ISTQB Foundation certification (nice to have).
