Senior Database Administrator – Remote

About the role

As a Senior Database Administrator you will own the health, performance, and availability of production database environments for a global technology services firm. You will work remotely, collaborating with developers and infrastructure teams to ensure data integrity and drive architectural improvements.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and optimise production database instances (SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL) for peak performance and stability.
• Design, implement and test robust backup, recovery, replication, and high‑availability/disaster‑recovery solutions.
• Collaborate with developers to review schema designs, optimise complex queries and improve overall data access patterns.
• Proactively monitor system health, troubleshoot performance issues and resolve incidents across multiple database platforms.
• Automate routine maintenance tasks, deployments and monitoring using scripting or orchestration tools.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience as a Database Administrator or in a comparable role.
• Strong background operating and tuning production databases such as SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL or MySQL.
• Proficiency in T‑SQL or PL/SQL for database development and optimisation.
• Hands‑on experience with backup, replication, and HA/DR strategies.
• Advanced English communication skills.
