Senior Cloud Security Engineer (Remote)

About the role

BairesDev, a technology project company with a remote-first team of 4,000+ engineers, is hiring a Senior Cloud Security Engineer. You will design and maintain resilient AWS security architectures across multiple accounts, VPCs, clusters and edge services, tune edge protection against real attack traffic and lead identity governance, acting as both debugger and architect.

Key responsibilities

• Design and maintain AWS security architecture across multiple accounts, VPCs, clusters and edge services.
• Configure and tune AWS edge protection (WAF, WebACLs, Shield, CloudFront) against DDoS, bot traffic and credential stuffing.
• Assess and optimize network topology, routing and load balancer configuration for security and reliability.
• Lead IAM and identity governance initiatives, including least privilege, role hygiene and secrets management.
• Participate in and guide cloud incident response, including log analysis, forensics and remediation planning.
• Troubleshoot and debug issues across network, infrastructure and application layers.

Required profile

• 7+ years of experience in cloud security engineering.
• Proven production experience tuning AWS edge protection under real attack traffic.
• Experience leading IAM and identity governance initiatives, including least privilege, federation patterns and secrets management.
• Hands-on cloud incident response experience, including log analysis, forensics and remediation planning.
• Strong cross-layer troubleshooting and debugging skills.
• Advanced proficiency in English.

Required skills

• AWS security architecture: VPC networking, IAM, KMS and secure workload design across multiple accounts.
• Network topology assessment and optimization.
• Nice to have: infrastructure scanning and IaC security review (Terraform or CloudFormation policy review).
• Nice to have: familiarity with SOC 2, ISO 27001 or NIST CSF.
