Search Engineer (AI) – Remote

About the role

We are looking for a Search Engineer (AI) to design and operate advanced retrieval systems that power AI‑driven applications. The role is fully remote and focuses on building scalable semantic search solutions that deliver accurate information at large scale.

Key responsibilities

• Design and maintain vector database architectures for semantic search.
• Develop and optimise retrieval‑augmented generation (RAG) pipelines, including embedding creation and document chunking.
• Implement reranking methods such as ColBERT and Reciprocal Rank Fusion to improve result relevance.
• Build hybrid search solutions that combine keyword and vector‑based retrieval.
• Evaluate search performance with frameworks like RAGAS and iterate for production‑grade reliability.
• Collaborate with AI teams to integrate search components into LLM and agentic workflows.

Required profile

• 4+ years of experience in software, AI, or data engineering.
• Proven experience building and optimising RAG pipelines.
• Strong proficiency in Python.
• Hands‑on experience with vector databases (e.g., Pinecone, Qdrant, Weaviate).
• Familiarity with embedding techniques, chunking strategies, and reranking algorithms.
• Experience using RAG evaluation tools such as RAGAS.
• Advanced English communication skills.
