Registered Nurse – Residential Aged Care

About the role

We are seeking a Registered Nurse to join our Midland Nursing Home, part of St Jude’s Health Care Group. The role focuses on delivering high-quality clinical care to aged-care residents, supporting their independence, dignity and comfort, including night-shift coverage.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive clinical services, including assessment, care planning and review of resident health status.
• Deliver patient-centred care that aligns with evidence-based practice and the scope of nursing practice.
• Maintain a strong customer-service orientation in all interactions.
• Lead, supervise and coach Enrolled Nurses and Assistants in Nursing within the facility.
• Manage challenging behaviours, particularly in residents living with dementia.
• Ensure compliance with the Aged Care Act and Aged Care Quality Standards.

Required profile

• Significant experience working in residential aged-care settings.
• Knowledge of the Aged Care Act, quality standards and best practice clinical guidelines.
• Ability to handle complex behavioural issues and support residents transitioning to or living in aged-care.
• Leadership capability to resolve conflicts and drive continuous improvement.

Required skills

• Clinical assessment and care planning.
• Evidence-based nursing practice.
• Supervisory and coaching skills for nursing staff.
