About the role
This UNV national assignment in Bolivia focuses on strengthening pharmaceutical logistics to ensure continuous health services and timely access to essential medicines for priority diseases such as HIV and tuberculosis.
Key responsibilities
- Support selection, planning, programming and supply of medicines, reagents and strategic inputs.
- Monitor inventories, stock levels, consumption and product rotation, issuing early alerts for stockouts, overstock or low turnover.
- Track distribution of medicines and supplies, ensuring proper documentation and traceability.
- Assist in implementing and monitoring good storage practices, preservation and expiration control under the FEFO principle.
- Analyze logistic data and produce technical reports on stock levels, consumption, supply gaps and logistics performance.
- Coordinate actions with national health programs, departmental services, health facilities and other supply‑chain actors.
- Support inclusion/exclusion processes of medicines and reagents in LINAME/LINADIME and quality‑control activities with competent authorities.
Required profile
- University degree in Chemistry, Pharmacy and/or Biochemistry with national licensure (mandatory).
- Post‑graduate studies in Public Health or Epidemiology valued.
- At least 5 years of professional experience, including pharmaceutical management and supply‑chain logistics.
- Minimum 3 years in logistics management of medicines and medical supplies, procurement, distribution, inventory control and warehouse best practices.
- Experience in HIV, STI, viral hepatitis or public‑health programmes is a plus.
- Experience with internationally funded projects considered an advantage.
- Proficiency with computer tools, databases and intermediate/advanced Excel.
- Native Spanish speaker (mandatory) and working knowledge of English (desirable).
