Part‑Time Dietary Aide

About the role

Orchard Post Acute is looking for a reliable, compassionate part‑time Dietary Aide to support our dietary services team. You will help ensure residents receive nutritious meals in a clean, safe, and welcoming environment.

Key responsibilities

• Learn and follow food‑service routines quickly.
• Set up meal trays, strip down returned trays, and operate the dishwasher.
• Check and record chlorine concentration and water temperature of the dishwashing machine at the start of each shift.
• Assist with serving meals, preparing snacks, and handling groceries.
• Sweep, mop, and maintain kitchen floors, work surfaces, and refrigerators.
• Carry out trash removal and keep the kitchen sanitary.
• Participate in orientation and ongoing training for dietary staff.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must obtain and maintain a food‑handlers certificate.
• Ability to read technical procedures, recipes, and follow written or oral instructions.
• Basic math skills for fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions.
• Problem‑solving and reasoning abilities.
• Ability to work cooperatively with personnel across all departments.

Required skills

• Food handling certification.
• Dishwasher operation and basic kitchen equipment use.
• Food preparation and tray setup.
