Part-time Business Architect – Subscription Billing

About the role

Applaudo is seeking a Business Architect on a part‑time contract to bridge finance and engineering teams. You will translate a complex subscription billing model into actionable data requirements, guide stakeholders through a migration to Zuora, and ensure technical continuity during a handover period.

Key responsibilities

• Translate the billing model in Zuora into data requirements for the integration team.
• Lead business analysis for custom billing rules, revenue recognition and reporting not covered by Zuora professional services.
• Guide finance and business stakeholders through the migration from a legacy accounting system to Zuora, providing clear transformation guidance.
• Interpret Zuora’s data model and billing logic to unblock the integration team, acting as a partial platform advisor.
• Facilitate decision‑making and trade‑off discussions with the controller and finance stakeholders.
• Maintain stakeholder communication and technical context continuity during the planned handover period.

Required profile

• Proven business analysis experience across finance and technical domains, including requirements gathering, process mapping and gap analysis.
• Strong subscription and billing domain expertise covering recurring revenue, invoicing and the payment lifecycle.
• Data literacy with ability to read pipeline logic, validate data flows and QA outputs.
• Prior experience in ERP or accounting system migration or transformation projects.
• Advanced English fluency for direct collaboration with a US‑based finance team.

Required skills

• Zuora billing, revenue and CPQ modules.
• Google Cloud Platform ecosystem, including BigQuery, Looker and Data Studio.
