Infrastructure & Network Engineer

About the role

APM Terminals is looking for an Infrastructure & Network Engineer to own and operate the IT infrastructure that keeps terminal operations running safely and efficiently 24/7. You will act as the local subject‑matter expert, collaborating with regional teams, vendors and business stakeholders to deliver reliable services and continuous improvements.

Key responsibilities

• Operate, monitor and maintain the health and lifecycle of the terminal’s IT infrastructure.
• Manage Cisco network components – switching, routing, wireless and security.
• Administer VMware virtualization, Windows Server platforms, compute, storage and backup systems.
• Proactively monitor performance and identify risks before they impact operations.
• Lead incident investigation and resolution across L1‑L3 support levels.
• Plan and execute infrastructure changes, upgrades, patching and technology refreshes.
• Ensure 24/7 availability and resilience of critical services.
• Collaborate with regional infrastructure teams, cybersecurity, vendors and business units.
• Maintain accurate documentation, technical standards and operational procedures.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives for reliability, security and automation.

Required profile

• 4+ years of experience in infrastructure, network or systems engineering.
• Strong hands‑on experience with Cisco networking (Layer 2/3 switching, routing, VLANs).
• Experience administering VMware virtualization platforms.
• Solid knowledge of Windows Server and Active Directory.
• Familiarity with enterprise storage, backup and server hardware.
• Experience with monitoring tools such as SolarWinds or PRTG.
• Knowledge of IT Service Management processes using ServiceNow or similar.
• Proven troubleshooting skills and ability to manage critical incidents independently.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management abilities.
• Intermediate English (B2) or higher; CCNP Enterprise preferred, CCIE a plus.
