Google Cloud DevOps Engineer (Temporary Contract)

About the role

You will own the design, implementation, and maintenance of Google Cloud infrastructure for a large‑scale operational platform. Working closely with a platform lead, you will stand up Kubernetes workloads, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud‑native monitoring during an intensive initial phase, then transition to ongoing support and enhancements.

Key responsibilities

• Build and configure GKE clusters and Helm‑based deployments using Terraform.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines on Cloud Build and manage artifact storage.
• Deploy and operate Cloud Composer (Airflow) environments for workflow orchestration.
• Implement monitoring, alerting, and logging with Cloud Monitoring and Cloud Logging.
• Collaborate with U.S. Eastern‑based teams, ensuring at least four hours of daily overlap.
• Follow structured delivery processes, including documented designs, code reviews, and ticket‑based work.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional experience with Terraform on Google Cloud.
• Strong hands‑on expertise with Kubernetes, GKE, and Helm.
• Experience with Cloud Run, Cloud Composer, and CI/CD pipeline creation.
• Excellent English communication skills for collaboration with U.S. stakeholders.
• Ability to work within a 5‑month fixed‑term contract and maintain required time‑zone overlap.
