Director Nacional de Educación

About the role

The National Director of Education will lead the design, implementation and evaluation of educational and social programs across Bolivia, overseeing multidisciplinary teams in urban and rural settings. This senior position requires strategic planning, budget management and extensive collaboration with educational, community and social partners.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary and territorial teams to deliver national education initiatives.
• Develop and execute strategic plans, annual operating plans (POA), and manage program budgets.
• Design, implement and evaluate educational and social programs targeting children, adolescents, youth, families and communities.
• Establish and maintain alliances with educational institutions, social organizations and community actors.
• Conduct field work and frequent national travel to monitor program impact in vulnerable contexts.
• Report on program performance and ensure alignment with the Bolivian education system.

Required profile

• University degree in Education Sciences, Educational Psychology, Social Sciences or related fields.
• Post‑graduate degree or master’s in Education, Educational Management, Social Development, Project Management or related areas.
• 8–10 years of professional experience in education, social development or program management, with at least 4–5 years in national leadership or coordination roles.
• Proven experience leading multidisciplinary teams and managing strategic planning, budgeting and project monitoring.
• Demonstrated experience designing, implementing and evaluating educational or social programs for vulnerable populations.
• Deep knowledge of the Bolivian education system and experience building partnerships with educational and community stakeholders (preferred).
• Willingness to travel frequently nationwide and work in both urban and rural environments.
