Senior Backend Engineer Tech Lead (3‑4 month contract) – Remote

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer Tech Lead to join our client’s team on a 3‑4 month contract. You will work remotely from anywhere in Latin America, collaborating daily with designers and engineers to deliver AI‑enabled backend solutions for mobile platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design and architecture of Backend‑for‑Frontend (BFF) systems and API middleware.
• Develop and maintain scalable microservices and event‑driven components for high‑traffic e‑commerce applications.
• Integrate AI tools such as LangChain or LlamaIndex into backend workflows.
• Collaborate with client stakeholders and external vendors, representing the engineering team.
• Ensure continuous integration and delivery pipelines are robust and automated.
• Mentor junior engineers and drive technical decisions across the team.

Required profile

• 6+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• 2+ years in a technical leadership role influencing architecture.
• Advanced English communication skills.
• Completed a four‑year college degree.
• Proven experience delivering large, complex systems on Agile/Scrum teams.

Required skills

• Node.js and TypeScript.
• AWS services (EC2, ECS, Lambda, ElastiCache, S3, CloudFront).
• MongoDB and backend deployment pipeline optimization.
• Salesforce OCAPI/API, CMS‑driven content management, mobile third‑party integrations.
• Design and security of scalable microservices and event‑driven architectures.
• AI development tools (LangChain, LlamaIndex) and agentic workflows.
• CI/CD implementation and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
